Sometimes the culprit behind a broken AC isn't a worn-out part or a refrigerant issue. Sometimes it's wildlife. On this call, we opened up the unit and found exactly that - lizard damage had fried the circuit board.

It sounds unusual, but it happens more than you'd think. Small critters can squeeze into outdoor and indoor HVAC equipment, and when they come into contact with live electrical components, the damage can be significant. A fried board means the system loses its brain. No controls, no communication between components, no cooling.

We diagnosed the fault, sourced the correct replacement board, and got the system back up and running. The fix itself is straightforward once you know what you're looking at - but you have to know what you're looking for. A lot of these situations get misdiagnosed as compressor failures or refrigerant leaks when the real issue is electrical.

That's the value of having a team that's seen it all. We don't just swap out obvious parts and call it a day. We trace the problem to its actual source - even when that source happens to have four legs and a tail.

If your AC is acting up and you can't figure out why, don't assume the worst. Mysterious behavior, sudden shutdowns, or a system that just won't respond are all worth a diagnostic call. The answer might surprise you.
