Most people never think about what's living inside their AC unit. Out of sight, out of mind - until you notice a weird smell, or someone in the house starts sneezing more than usual. That buildup you can't see is getting circulated through your home every time the system kicks on.
Here's what we were working with on this one. The evaporator coil and blower area were packed with dark buildup - dust, debris, and mold-like grime coating just about every surface inside the unit. This is a Mitsubishi mini split, which is a great system, but even the best equipment needs to be cleaned out regularly. Neglect it long enough and it stops running efficiently. Worse, it starts pushing all of that contamination straight into your living space.
We took this thing apart and cleaned it the right way. That means going beyond the filter and getting into the coil fins, the blower wheel, the drain pan - all of it. The difference between before and after is pretty clear. Clean fins, no visible buildup, and a unit that can actually breathe and do its job.
A lot of AC maintenance visits are surface-level at best. We don't do that. Every visit, we take the time to actually clean the system - not just check a box. Your air quality is directly tied to how clean your equipment is, and that's not something we take shortcuts on.
If your system hasn't had a proper cleaning in a while, it's worth getting it looked at. Summer is when your AC is working hardest, and a dirty unit has to work even harder just to keep up. Regular AC maintenance keeps things running cleaner, cooler, and longer.
